Culture & Visitor Experiences
Interactive experiences for culture and heritage.
Help visitors explore the stories behind a place, a collection or a moment in history. Sugar Creative designs and builds interactive trails, augmented reality experiences and visitor apps for museums, heritage organisations and destinations.
Give visitors a role in the story
A visitor experience can connect an exhibition to the streets outside, reveal a lost building or invite people to discover a collection through play. We start with the audience, the story and the setting, then choose the technology that supports them.
What we can help you create
Our work includes location-based walking experiences, mobile augmented reality, interactive interpretation, games and educational content. We bring creative direction, narrative design, user experience, 3D content and development together.
Work grounded in real places
For 878 AD: Winchester Revealed, Sugar worked with Ubisoft and Hampshire Cultural Trust on an app that extends the exhibition into Winchester. Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad brings Ubisoft’s historical world to mobile and web through interactive learning. Echoes of Revolution lets audiences explore revolutionary history in Boston and New York City.
Start with your audience and your site
A useful first conversation covers who will visit, what you want them to understand, and where the experience will be used. Tell us about existing interpretation, content, devices, access requirements and the project’s intended lifespan. You can approach us with an early idea or a developed brief.
